My Visit To Chibok Will Not Bring Back Our Girls-

Update on the Missing Girls : My Visit To Chibok Will Not Bring Back Our Girls- Jonathan  (Should this be called fear or what?)

Goodluck-Jonathan       President Goodluck Jonathan has put aside visiting Chibok community, where over 200 female students of a state-owned secondary school were abducted over a month ago, at the moment, insisting that the visit will not “solve the problem”.
Responding to a journalist during the Africa Security Summit in Paris, President Jonathan said “if the president goes to Chibok today, it does not solve any problem; may be psychological problem or for media relevance. But you have not solved the problem” insisting that “the problem facing the president and indeed the Nigerian government is how to get this girls from where they are” he said.
President Jonathan, who noted that “these girls are from a particular school, but there are a lot of misconceptions; these girls have been removed from the school” insisted that “visiting the school in person does not solve the problem”.
“They (girls) are not from one family, they are scattered from a particular local government area, which is made up of so many communities. So there is no one family that you will go and visit” he said.
Though a state owned school, President Jonathan maintained that it remains the “commitment of the federal government to rebuild that school and provide facilities to protect it since it is a school that predominantly takes care of school education so that the girls will be protected”.
He however noted that he will visit Chibok “no doubt about that” but noted that it is unlike the some bomb blast situations where he visited the scenes, insisting that “our interest now is to locate the girls; to know where they are. These girls are not held in Chibok”
There had been widespread criticism over the cancellation of the president’s visit to Chibok one month after the girls were abducted.
President Jonathan also dismissed allegations that Cameroon have not been helpful in the fight against Boko Haram insurgents, insisting that “Nigeria has a robust relationship with Cameroon”.
He further stated that Cameroon has intercepted some weapons targeted at Nigerians. He maintained that Nigeria has been unable to pursue the insurgents, who mostly attack communities that are close to the Cameroonian border, because of existing international laws which demands that permission be sought from the country.

iPhone 6 may ship with sharper 1,704 x 960 resolution display compared to the ones before it

The iPhone rumor mill is in full swing as we’re probably 3-4 months out from the launch of Apple’s next generation handset(s) with the majority of the discussion focusing on display size. All indications suggest Apple is preparing to launch two different models – both with larger screen sizes than currently available.
If true, it’ll be a significant shift for Apple as they have traditionally been reluctant to play the “bigger is better” game. Since the original iPhone was released in 2007, Apple has only increased the size of the iPhone once – from 3.5 inches to 4 inches – starting with the iPhone 5 in 2012.
Even still, it’s no secret that the market is moving toward larger phones and customers want something a big bigger even if it would be more difficult to control with a single hand.
Customer demand is only part of the equation, however, as they’re very mindful of resolution bumps as it relates to developers. The rumored 1,704 x 960 resolution would essentially be a 3x bump over the “base” resolution of 568 x 320 and would allow Apple to retain the current Retina branding

Fleksy Keyboard Breaks the Guinness World Record for Fastest Texting

17 years old Brazilian holds new Guinness World Record as fastest texter

A 17-year-old from Brazil is now the world fastest texter according to the Guinness Book of World Records, edging out the previous record of 18.44 seconds – held by another teen – with a time of 18.19 seconds.
Marcel Fernandes Filho earned the record by typing complex sentences like, “The razor-toothed piranhas of the genera Serrasalmus and Pygocentrus are the most ferocious freshwater fish in the world. In reality they seldom attack a human.” Contestants must nail the spelling of all words and proper punctuation.
Filho says he honed his typing skills after smashing his faulty laptop in 2009 at which point he had to rely on his iPhone 3GS.

Shocking News: Boko Haram Writes School, Threatens To Abduct Male Students

The Principal of Government College, Makurdi, Godfrey Ugudu, on Saturday said the school had received letter from Boko Haram sect threatening to attack the school.

Ugudu, who announced this at a news conference in Makurdi on Saturday, added that the school received two letters which had the same content on 14 May.

“It is true that we saw two letters informing us of the intention of the sect to invade our school on Friday or Monday by Boko Haram.

“The letters were dated May 14, 2014, stating that they were coming either of the two days to abduct our boys whom they would marry to the secondary school girls abducted in Chibok.

“In the letter, we were asked to inform the Mount Saint Gabriel Secondary School opposite us to also get prepared as they promised to invade the place too.’’

According to him, “we immediately alerted the police and the Commissioner for Education. A report has been made to the Governor on the issue.

“The two letters, which were written in pidgin English, were sighted inside one of the classrooms and the second one was slipped into the staff room,” he said.

The principal commended the government and security operatives in the state for their prompt response to the issue.

He said that everything had been done to ensure the safety of the school children, adding that he had informed the Principal of Mount Saint Gabriel.

NAN reports that about 500 out of about 700 students of the college are living in the school while Mount Saint Gabriel is purely boarding school.

The Police Public Relations Officer in the state, Dan Ezeala, confirmed the report and assured that police were on top of the situation.
